William’s wedding, a scouting reunion

Once a scout, always a scout!
It’s always great to meet old friends again. Age has distanced us with our own path. Asking the guys out for occasional yumcha is always difficult with all kinda excuses including putting blames on a sick dog. The best “masuk baris” reunion is always wedding dinner. The chance came when William invited us for his wedding dinner last weekend. Alot of old face shown up and we nicely masuk baris, sitting comfortably over a round table.
I have known these scouters since 1995. We were a bunch of crazy trooper back then, storming all available campfire in town, chopping down trees without permits, torturing juniors to feed backyard mosquitoes, jumping off building as part of commando trainings and plenty more to mention. Those were really the good old days.
Today, William and Ziao were married, Timothy and Ka Bien is getting married this month end, Jin Han has a baby girl while Kong Wai and Di Pang moved south to become Singaporean. We all have grown up, haven’t we?
Anyway, time for a quick roll call… the person in the photo above are:
Standing, left to right: Me, Moon Kai, William, Jin Han, Ziao and Kong Wai
Sitting, left to right: Mun Dee, Chee Choon, Timothy, Ka Bien (she was actually a girl guide) and Boon Hock
I am looking forward for Timothy and Ka Bien’s wedding this coming 30th March. I postponed my flight to Taiwan from 24th March to 31st March to attend their dinner. Hoping to see more scouters who missed William’s shout for masuk baris.
I guess I have to start looking for my Sentosa grey tie. Tim’s card wrote, “Formal” for attire…
